Some things in life are insanely gratifying. Fresh boiled crawfish after a tour, for instance. One thing that makes my day is when people are kind enough to leave a few kind words in the form of a review. Here is a sampling of reviews garnered for my work both as a solo guide and as a member of the team for Strange True Tours and Two Chicks Walking Tours.

Absolutely PERFECT tour guide!! Loki is the BEST! We were a group of girls on my bachelorette party weekend and he gave us the perfect private tour! He kept us all very entertained and happy (which is hard when Handeling 9 girls!) Loki grew up in NoLA and genuinely loves the history of this town. His passion for the city and happy-go-lucky yet attentive attitude make the perfect tour guide. Our tour was disrupted by some rain, he found a place to us to duck and cover and extended the tour free of charge so we could see everything he wanted to show us! He knows great fun facts that a history book does not! He even found us an excellent place to eat dinner!! We loved you Loki, best of luck and we hope to see you again one day!!

Review of Strange True on TripAdvisor

Amazingly Accommodating and Great Insight to the History of NOLA As part of a bachelorette party, we had a private tour with Loki the tour guide. I cannot say enough good things about our experience, and I am talking on behalf of all of the girls. Not only did Loki specify the tour to what we wanted to know, but he was completely accommodating as the rain delayed our progress a few times (he even extended the tour just so we could finish and see some specific sights that we were interested in). The stories Loki told were so engaging and he was very knowledgeable on the subjects at hand. Likewise, he was incredibly nice and patient! (as we were all a little tipsy!) Truly, a great experience that I would highly recommend.

George is a natural and very gifted storyteller with a passion for history and a flair for the macabre, unusual and amusingly ridiculous. A true native son from an old Creole family, he brings sincerity and a very personal touch that goes beyond the sensationalism common amongst walking tours. Very highly recommended if you want a rollicking good time that’s also filled with accurate information about this great city.

Highly recommended!! We had the pleasure of going on a guided Native Son tour of the lower garden district this past Friday. Let me tell you, George knows his stuff! At every corner he revealed another facet of rich New Orleans history. Even better, this is his home turf. He has intimate knowledge of many of the homes because they were part of his childhood. You can’t get much better than that. I know there is more, so we will be back!

Erin K Smith Thanks to Loki Williams for a great tour this morning of the Historic Garden District. It was a fun two hours learning the history of the area and seeing some amazing houses. Loki’s family ties to the area made it extra special. Christine M, Owner at Two Chicks Walking Tours, responded to this review: We’re lucky to have Loki! As long as there’s been a New Orleans, his people have been here. He’s so well informed on his heritage and is incredibly sincere in his approach to being a tour guide.

Review of Two Chicks on TripAdvisor

We had an amazing two hour tour of the Garden district this afternoon. Many tours will provide the “who, what, and where” but this one covered so much of the “why” of New Orleans, from the size and shape of the crypts in the cemetery to the cast iron design of the Garden District homes. I’ll definitely reserve time with George for my next trip to the Crescent City.

George provided a truly excellent tour of the Garden district and Lafayette Cemetery with an entertaining blend of history and local anecdotes as only a native could. In addition to the tour, his expert guidance on where to go and what to do for a real New Orleans experience helped us quickly and easily plan the rest of our visit.
